Agate Park
Agate Park, owned by the University of Oregon, is a public space featuring play equipment and benches. It is famous for offering views of the annual spectacle of Vaux's Swift birds descending into the chimney of Agate Hall. Despite its current worn-out state, the park remains popular with people enjoying ice cream from Eugene's renowned Prince Puckler's ice cream shop.
The park's redesign is inspired by the spiraling pattern of the swift birds and ensures clear views of the Agate chimney. The play areas are designed to be inclusive, and the park will continue to serve as a relaxing spot to enjoy ice cream.
