This industrial site epitomizes sound environmental approaches by re-using an existing structure and surrounding it with gardens. Each entrance has its own garden space. Several rain gardens and a long bio-swale filter storm water from roofs, pavement and from the adjacent railroad. The existing half-century old warehouse was transformed by Nir Pearlson Architect and is used to by Hummingbird wholesale for food production and distribution. The building also provides spaces for offices, manufacturing, and retail tenants.
