RockRidge Park Nature Play Area

Client: City of Bend

Location: Bend Oregon

LandCurrent designed a nature play area as part of a large new park in Bend Oregon. The nature play area has been built from materials found on the site: native boulders and tree trunks from the juniper trees growing in the park. Juniper trees are invasive in the area and many trees needed to be removed to keep their growth in check.

The city of Bend is very excited about all their new parks but especially about this nature play area. During a tour of the new parks a local news reporter remarked "It has a little forest made out of juniper tree from on site, and it's littered with 'talk tubes'- essentially giving the trees a voice of their own
